Question
Hi/Low Question

Betting strategies - 2007/02/19 00:49 I don't know if this is the place for my question or not, but here goes:
I played in Atlantic City about a week ago, mostly at lower table minimums.
The highest bet I placed was $180. Funny thing happened-I got a lot of attention in few tables, and in another table, I was asked politely not to play in one place. I swear I don't get this. Could use your advice-what is the best bet range to place?

re:Betting strategies - 2007/02/19 10:33 My opinion is $180 at smaller casinos is considered a big deal thing (not so the case in bigger casinos).
A minimum of 12 to 1 spread is ideal between your minimum bet and your max bet.
Try to take under consideration the casino you are playing in. Good luck!

re:Betting strategies - 2010/04/07 08:21 Hello Everyone...
You know Blackjack is a beatable game, for a skilled player, with the right rules. 6-5 BJ gives the house a much bigger advantage, which is almost impossible to overcome. The best BJ players don't just count, they ace track, shuffle track, and hole card as well, also have to learn to play under heavy cover, to keep from getting banned, but a few people manage to do so. Best advantage a top player can expect, using just counting, in a 3-2 BJ game with good rules is about 1%, and that is with a big (such as 1 to 20) spread, with an indexed count system, and never making a mistake. In the real world, an advantage of 0.25% to 0.5% is realistic. So if you are playing black chips at about 60 to 80 hands per hour, expect long term winnings of maybe $30 to $80 per hour; but have a bankroll that can handle pushing $2,000 across the table per hand, and which can keep that up through long losing streaks.
