Insurance betting - 2007/02/24 17:51Is it true that insurance is a bad bet? How about taking even money when you get blackjack? When I think about it, it looks as if it would be wise to bet a sure thing. There's no way you won't make some money. Is it true?

I have to say that I think that taking insurance on a blackjack is the same as even money. And yes, you can take insurance (and also even money on a blackjack) when the TC is +3 or greater.
Re:Insurance betting - 2007/12/09 14:43The casino is not offering insurance because it's to your advantage. They are playing on your fear. I never take insurance or even money. That' like "doubling down for less". Over time they are bad moves. It's the old saying, "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is".
Re:Insurance betting - 2009/11/04 03:32As a dealer I can tell you that my opinion is dont take it. Usually will get BJ 1-7 times with an Ace up. And I rearely take even money.
